Unilateral Polycystic Kidney Disease is a type of Polycystic Kidney Disease
(PKD). Most patients with the disease of Polycystic Kidney Disease have cysts on
their both kidneys. And only a small part of patients have cysts on only one
kidney. As for the unilateral Polycystic Kidney Disease, the cause and treatment
are same as that of bilateral ones. But as the other kidney is normal, the
patients’ condition can be better because people can live a normal life just
with one kidney.
However, patients must pay attention to the complications caused by this
disease. With the enlargement of the cysts and the development of this disease,
it may cause a series of complications, such as infections, hypertension,
hematuria, proteinuria and damage to other organs caused by the enlarged kidney.
The hazards of these complications may bring the patients much harm which is no
less than that of the disease itself.
Besides, in the daily life, patients should pay attention to the following
aspects: setting up the confidence, adopting reasonable diets, preventing from
various infections, make a good control of blood pressure and avoiding
overworking.
These are some advices for the patients of unilateral Polycystic Kidney
Disease. Hope this information is helpful for you. If you need more information,
