Some people experienced low blood pressure (hypotension) after taking on
dialysis. But most of them do not know why they have suddenly suffered this. In
fact, low blood pressure is one side effect of renal dialysis.
Dialysis is an artificial kidney
Kidneys are organs that are in charge of filtering blood and produce urine in
order to discharge toxic substances from the body. The two kidneys contain
millions of glomeruli that are little balls of blood vessels and the glomeruli
are the main tissues to achieve this work. When they lost more than half
glomeruli, kidneys cannot support the body to remove these wastes of embolism.
Over time, glomeruli would lose more and more along with the increasing
severity. People need renal dialysis to discharge excess water, salt as well as
waste products.
Dialysis can save people to sustain life once they step into renal failure.
However, it also arouses many side effects, such as cramp, low blood pressure,
heart failure, arrhythmia and so on. After long-term dialysis, almost all of the
people have experienced low blood pressure. Why do they suffer this
frequently?
The common cause is that they gain too much weight between two times of
dialysis. If they remove too much water, low blood pressure occurs. Other causes
include taking hypertensive drugs, diabetic autonomic neuropathy, heart
dysfunction, allergy to dialysis devices.
In order to avoid low blood pressure caused by renal dialysis, patients need
to receive dialysis regularly and they should avoid discontinue of dialysis
during treatment. Otherwise, it may threaten people’s lives. Besides, patients
also can get other assistant treatment. For example, they are suitable to choose
Immunotherapy that can produce many new healthy cells to repair kidney tissues
and especially glomeruli. So they can restore some kidney function.
As long as people can get more kidney function, they are hopeful to cast off
renal dialysis and also avoid the side effect—low blood pressure. If you are
confused with the side effects of renal dialysis, please have a try and get a
good effect.
