Nursing Care and Health Care of Hematuria
Hematuria is one of the most common symptoms of the disease of Polycystic
Kidney Disease (PKD). This symptom mainly caused by the burst or rupture of the
cysts.
What should the patients do to cope with hematuria?
1, hematuria is a severe symptom and usually the patients feel extremely
scared of it. So, proper explanation and comfort for the patients are necessary.
It there is 1-3ml blood in 1000ml urine, it is called gross hematuria. So keep a
good state of emotion and avoid being too nervous.
2, patients should develop out the good habit of drinking water in the daily
life.
3, smoke less or stop smoking. Patients with hematuria should eat less spicy
food and forbid taking in the following food: acquatic products, hot pepper,
garlic, green onion, caraway, dog meat, horse meat and ass meat.
4, hematuria patients should treat the inflammations of urinary tract, kidney
stones and other disease positively.
5, in the daily life, patients should not make the bladder in a highly full
state. If you have urge to urinate, you should go and avoid make the urine
remain in the bladder for a long time.
6, make sure to have a good rest, and avoid overworking and strenuous
exercise. If it is necessary, the patients had better stay in bed.
In a word, once the patients find the symptom of hematuria, they should go to
see a doctor as early as possible.
