As the continuous growth of cysts for PKD patients, they might face the
condition that the cysts break. Once the cysts break, patients will suffer from
a sharp pain their back, rigors, fever and so on. Worse than that, those cysts
are very easy to get infected. If severer, these infections can lead to sepsis,
damaging other organs. Then, the problem occurs, how to cope with the broken
cysts for Polycystic Kidney Disease Paitients?
Stanching the bleeding and preventing infections is of high importance.
Clinically, doctors will use a needle to absorb the blood and the fluid and then
clean the cystic lesion with normal saline. After the surgery, patients will be
given some antibiotics to prevent from infections, which can be TMP
(Trimethoprim), clindamycin, chloramphenicol, erythrocin, and tetracycline etc.
However, during those treatments, patients will have to endure great pain. So,
it is better for patients to shrink the cysts and control its continuous growth.
Not only infection, a lot of other complications and symptoms can be
avoided.
To control the cysts from growing, patients should receive proper treatment.
What is more, patients should take care of themselves in the following
aspects.
1. Avoid strenuous activities for fear of the burst of kidney cysts.
2. When the cysts are very large, replace the belt with gallus.
3. Take routine check of blood pressure and kidney function.
4. Avoid any toxic medicines.
5. Clean your urinary tract after sexual intercourse or urination.
In a word, patients should receive proper treatment to control the cysts. If
the cysts are shrunk and do not grow any more, no infection will be
triggered.
