In our daily work, we found few people know about Polycystic Kidney Disease(PKD), they only began to heard about this when they have obvious
discomforts and see their doctors. When they check PKD on the internet, they
were frightened. ‘Oh, PKD is so terrible!’. Actually their condition is already

PKD is a very prevalent inherited kidney disease, and clinical cases show that
it develops with natural principles, and it can be divided into five typical

The first stage is emergency period. As a congenital disease, it has been in
human body when they are born, but these cysts are not easily detected before

The third stage is swelling period. After 40years old, cysts can enlarge
further. With the enlargement of cysts, various discomforts or symptoms may

etc. In this stage, patients should not only give close monitoring to cyst’s
growth but give symptomatic treatment. Administrations which can increase the
permeability of cysts wall, restrain the secretion of cystic fluid and decrease
the hyperplasia of cystic cells can be taken, and this can effectively decrease
kidneys’ pressure from big cysts so that renal function can be protected from
further aggravation.
The fourth stage is rupture stage. If the cysts can not be controlled in last
stage, they will grow up further. Under external factors, say bending or any
other pressure, big cysts can rupture. Once cysts rupture, patients need to see
the doctor and get treated immediately, to avoid septemia and acute
deterioration of renal function.
The fifth stage is end stage renal failure. Symptomatic treatment like
hemodialysis or hemodialysis can be used.
