Side Affects of Hormonotherapy in Treating Kidney Cyst

Kidney Cyst is a common kidney disease. In the western medicines, there are not effective treatments except operation and hormonotherapy. However, these two therapies can only treat the symptoms caused by the disease, but can not treat the disease from the root. Moreover, hormonotherapy have lots of side effects on patients. As follows:

1.Infection

Hormone has an effect in restraining immunity so it can treat the diseases caused by immunity defects fundamentally. However, if patients use hormone for too long, it can decline their immunity thus causing infections including bacteria, fungus, tubercle bacillus and other microorganism infections.

2.Hypertension and edema.

Long term using hormone can cause retention of water and sodium thus causing edema and hypertension. Therefore, during the process of hormonotherapy, patients should observe closely their body and blood pressure. If necessary, the patients should use some diuretic and hypotensor.

3.Ulcer

Hormone can increase the secretion of gastric acid and pepsase thus causing ulcer and even cause ulceration bleeding or perforated ulcer. Therefore, patients with ulcer should not receive hormonotherapy.

4. Osteoporosis

Hormone can restrain the osteoblast activity and prevent the absorption of calcium by intestinal tract thus causing osteoporosis. Therefore, if patients with long term use hormone, especially the elder, they should keep enough supplement of vitamin D and calcium tablet and electrolyte disturbance.

5. Electrolyte disturbance

Hormone can increase the discharge of potassium thus causing Hypopotassemia.

6. Hyperlipidaemia

Long term using hormone can cause hyperlipidaemia, which can lead to atherosclerosis.

7. Hormone makes patients out of shape.

Mass using hormone can do harm to patients’ figure. Many patients will have skin cracks, moon- shaped face, amyotrophy in their limps and so on,

8. Mental disorder

Patients will have attention-deficit, insomnia and other metal disorders.

9. Steroid glycosuria.

Hormone can affect the utilization rate of sugar by insulin thus causing neoglycogenesis. As result, it can cause high blood sugar.

The above has introduced the main side affects caused by hormone. In order to prevent the above harms, patients with Kidney Cyst should choose an appropriate therapy based on their own disease condition.
