In most cases, adults affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease will present
discomfots in the third or fourth decade of life, as symptoms tend to begin as
the cysts reach a size or number that damages kidney function. In the advanced
stage of PKD, patients often experience exhaustion. How to deal with this
problem?
Exhaustion, also called fatigue, or lethargy, may occur due to a build up of
wastes or a shortage of red blood cells (anemia) when the kidneys fail to work
adequately.
For persons affected by PKD, they have numerous cysts filled with fluid in
the kidneys. These cysts can reduce kidney function leading to kidney
failure.
The kidneys perform several essential functions to keep the body working
properly. They help filter the blood and remove waste products from the body.
Meanwhile, they release a hormone known as erythropoietin (EPO), which can
stimulate the bone marrow to make enough red blood cells. Red blood cells carry
oxygen all over the body.
Untreated effectively, about half of patients with PKD will progress to
kidney failure. The failed kidneys don't work properly to eliminate wastes and
produce decreased number of red blood cells. Both the accumulation of wastes and
anemia will lead to exhaustion.
Obviously, the best way to alleviate exhaustion for the patient with PKD is
to stop the decline of renal function and repair the kidney damage.
As one of the largest kidney disease specialized hospital, our treatment for
PKD include Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy. This is not an oral medicine but
an external osmotherapy.
The effective component can penetrate into human body through waist area. The
mechnism of the treatment is to dilate blood vessels, restrain the hyperplasia
of cystic cells, and increase the permeability of cystic cells. By taking this
treatment, cysts can stop enlargement and begin to shrink gradually, which can
effectively reduce cysts' pressure on kidneys. Then we can reach the goal of
eliminating exhaustion.
