Bleeding into Cyst with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a common cause of decreased renal function, resulting in chronic kidney disease (CKD) in children and adults. People affected by this disease have multiple fluid filled sacs located in the kidneys. Enlarged kidneys can sometimes cause bleeding into the cysts. If this happens, what can you do to treat it?

Bleeding into a cysts is when a blood vessel in or on the surface of a cyst ruptures and the blood goes into the cyst, increasing the size and density of the cyst, often quite quickly. Patients may suffer from flank pain.

In some cases, this bleeding can be severe enough to require removal the affected kidney or embolization (a method where a blood vessel is purposely blocked to prevent bleeding, which may unfortunately result in the death of the tissue downstream). This will lead to a significant loss of kidney function and may result in an earlier start time for dialysis. Therefore, these methods are not the best treatment options.

In China, we apply a unique herbal remedy to treat PKD which is known as Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy. Effective ingredients in Chinese medicine can dilate the vessels of cyst wall, promote the local blood circulation and quickly remove the cystic fluids. Moreover, it can decrease the intracapsular pressure, inhibit the continuous secretion of epithelial cells in cysts wall, and reduce the production of cyst fluid so as to restrain the growth of cysts and shrink them gradually. In this way, the cysts' pressure to surrounding renal tissues can be reduced and your disease can be treated effectively. Symptoms of PKD like bleeding in the cysts can be eliminated.

While receiving medical treatment, you need to make healthy lifestyle choices. Eat a diet low in protein, potassium, salt and phosphorus. Stop smoking.

Exercising and controlling blood pressure can help slow the progression of your disease and guarantee a better curative effect.
