The Treatment for Polycystic Kidney Disease Age 30
Healthy kidneys can filter out excessive toxins and wastes and fluid from the blood stream. In people with Polycystic Kidney Disease, the kidneys become enlarged with multiple cysts that interfere with normal renal function. Eventually, kidney failure will be caused. The most common type is ADPKD. With this disease, problems commonly do not develop until the age of 30, and about 50% of patients develop end-stage kidney disease by the age of 60. However, we can control the progression of PKD with prompt treatment.
Polycystic Kidney Disease Age 30
Many patients live for decades without developing symptoms of renal functional decline. Symptoms usually develop between age 30 and 40, and may include abdominal pain, detectable abdominal mass, high blood pressure, kidney stones, bruise easily, hematuria, etc.
It is often easy to diagnose PKD in people who develop flank or abdominal pain and have a family history of ADPKD. An imaging study, such as an ultrasound, MRI, or CT scan is often recommended and reveal bilateral enlarged kidneys with multiple cysts. Cysts may also be detected in the liver, pancreas, and spleen.
What is the treatment for Polycystic Kidney Disease age 30?
The treatment should be aimed at treating the kidney and non-kidney symptoms as well as stop the growth of cysts. Moreover, we need to protect the residual renal function and repair the damaged kidney function.
Western medications. Medicines can be prescribed by the doctor to control the symptoms such as hypertension, UTIs, back or flank pain, etc.
Chinese herbal medicines. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy can help us halt the aggravation of PKD through slow down or prevent the enlargement of cysts, shrink the cysts over time, and improve the kidney function. At present, this remedy is the most effective therapy for the disease.
We treated 2051 PKD patients from 2008 to 2011, and most of them have their cysts shrunk, the improvement rate is over 90%. And PKD patients accounts for 6% of all of our patients each year.
