Polycystic Kidney Disease(PKD):Why Do Patients with Renal Failure Have Renal Anemia

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a common genetic disease. If the patients do not treat the disease in early time, it will do much harm to patients’ kidney thus causing Renal Failure gradually. With patients’ renal function declining, the patients will have a series of complications. Renal Anemia as one of its complications can do much harm to patients, which is the main cause of fatigue. Then, why do patients with Renal Failure have Renal Anemia?

Renal Anemia is a common complication of Renal Failure. As patients’ renal function declines, their Renal Anemia will also aggravate. There are several causes of Renal Anemia.

1. As patients’ renal function declines, much toxins and wastes will accumulate in their body, which can shorten the life of red blood cells greatly and cause marrow hematopoietic function disturbance.

2. As patients’ kidney is damaged seriously, their kidney can not produce enough hemopoietin thus the concentration of hemopoietin declining. It is also an important cause of Renal Anemia.

3. Usually, patients with Renal Failure have various certain blood coagulation disorders. As a result, the patients often have bleeding such as bleeding in gums, gastrointestinal tract and so on.

4. Many patients are often accompanied with intestines problems. Therefore, they often have vomit, nausea, diarrhea and so on, which can cause malnutrition to them. As a result, the raw material of blood is insufficient thus causing Renal Anemia.

Compared with PKD itself, its complications can do more harm than the disease itself. Therefore, the patients with PKD should receive treatment as early as possible so as to prevent their disease from developing into Renal Failure.
