Patient: I have suffered from Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) for about ten
years and the largest cyst is 4cm. Now I have got more serious pain on waist and
higher creatinine than before. Doctors told me that if I do not accept
operation, this disease can develop into Uremia. However, my doctor also said
that operation can not treat my disease completely. Is it real? I am so scared.
Please give me some suggestions.
Expert Answer: 4cm is not small among cysts. Generally, your disease has
already developed into Renal Insufficiency which is mainly caused by too much
cystic pressure on renal tissue. You mentioned your creatinine is increasing.
This always means your half of your kidneys is injured by cysts. The key of
treating Polycystic Kidney Disease is to prevent it developing. Polycystic
Kidney Disease is a kind of congenital genetic disease. It is usually found at
the end stage and renal function decline is more common 10 years after this
disease was found.
Well then, how to prevent this disease happening? Micro-Chinese Medicine
Osmotherapy has its distinctive effect on block the process of this disease
developing. This treatment can shrink cysts, which can reduce cystic pressure on
renal parenchyma. Only by this way, glomerular ischemia and anoxia can be
relived radically. Then Renal Fibrosis can be blocked, preventing this disease
developing into Uremia Stage.
